OpenStudy (sb1028):

HELPPPP QUICK!!! Is PbO2 a compound that contains both ionic and covalent bonds?

OpenStudy (sb1028):

The other options are CO2, CH3COOH, NH4CL

OpenStudy (unbelievabledreams):

It is NH4Cl because ammonium is +1 and Cl is -1 so they share the bond.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I agree that it is NH4Cl, but because we have more than 1 metal or nonmetal involved in the compound. (covalent between the N and Hs and ionic between the polyatomic ion and Cl-).

OpenStudy (sb1028):

Thank you both! @UnbelievableDreams @JoannaBlackwelder
