OpenStudy (suwhitney):

6. You are testing the following two tailed hypothesis test: H0:  = 40, Ha:  ≠ 40 based on a sample size of n = 15 resulting in a p-value of 0.877. Explain why you would or would not reject the null hypothesis at a 5% level of significance, assuming the population was approximately normal?

OpenStudy (suwhitney):

H0: u = 40, Ha: u ≠ 40

OpenStudy (reemii):

At the moment, the p-value is 8% which means "accept the null hypothesis at 5% sign. level". |dw:1470747430191:dw| But since \(n=15\) is a "small" value (~30 is more comfortable), things might change but we have no information about that. So I bet the answer is just 'accept H0'.
