How to find the arc length of an arc of a circle?
I'm a bit confused on trying to find the arc length. I just want to confir that to find the arc length, it's:\[\frac{ degree }{ 360 }\times2 \pi r\]
|dw:1470850943845:dw| call y the arc length, and it's x degrees you would find it \(\Large \frac{x}{360}\times 2\pi r\)
You nailed it! :D
Thanks! I used this equation and my answer was actually wrong. Can I show you my work? Maybe I did something wrong. :3
Maybe they want you to do it in radians! We were using degrees. For radians: arc length = rc where r is the radius and c is the central angle
Would the central angle be the degree?
yes, but we would have to convert it to radians 180 degrees = \(\pi\) 2\(\pi\) is 360 degrees which is a whole revolution
Oh wait, oh my goodness I got it! So I looked back at the question and I miscalculated the radius. I entered the radius incorrectly and it messed up my whole equation. I got it now! I'm so sorry, but hey I learned about radians, and that's something new! Thank you so much for your help. :3
Anytime, Darry! :D
