When constructing an inscribed square, how many lines will be drawn in the circle?
@jim_thompson5910 is it 7?
looks like 6 to me http://www.mathopenref.com/constinsquare.html the 4 sides plus the 2 diagonals
doesnt have 6 as an option
what are your options?
2, 3, 5, 7
maybe your teacher means the diagonals? if so, then it would be 2
Ok, could you help with a couple more
sure, go ahead
Which of these is a step in constructing an inscribed square using technology? Construct segment DB, segment BC, segment CE, segment EG, segment GI, and segment ID. Draw segments BR, RS, and SB. Identify the points of intersection between circle A and circle G. Mark the points of intersection between circle A and line AB.
What exactly does your teacher mean by "technology"? Something like geogebra? or geometer's sketchpad? or something else?
im not sure it doesnt really specify its online
Then I'm not sure on this one
let me think
if another circle is drawn with B as the center, and this circle had the same radius as this current circle, then you'll get another point on the hexagon corner
it will be on the other side (opposite of point C)
hopefully you're able to visualize that?
im confused lol
step 1) Place the nonpencil part of the compass at point B step 2) Place the pencil part at point A step 3) Draw a circle This new circle will cross the old circle at point C (already shown) and point F (new point not shown). Point F is going to be on both circles
so is it C?
no I'm describing choice B
ohhh okay
b
yes
