These are the possible types 1) Strong acid + Strong base -----> Neutral salt + water Neutral salt because both the base and the acid are strong *In other cases the salt takes the characteristics of the strong member out of the two 2) STrong acid + weak base -> Acidic salt 3) Weak acid + Strong base ----> Basic salt
