OpenStudy (tsyana):

What is the mole fraction of ethanol, C2H5OH, in an aqueous solution that is 46% ethanol by mass? molar mass of C2H5OH=46g molar mass of H20 is 18g.

OpenStudy (pythagoras123):

I'm not exactly sure what you mena by mole fraction but here are the calculations I made: Mass of solution = 100g Mass of water content = 100g - 46g = 54g Amount in mol of ethanol = 1 Amount in mol of water = 54g/18g = 3 Mol ratio of ethanol to water = 1:3
