@skullpatrol @quickstudent @lovelarap @zepdrix @MrCoolGuy Can any of you help?
Sorry, I don't know @Abhisar
Okay thanks for coming over
@CandyCove Can you help?
Plz!
No.
still need help?
I can help :)
Cohesion is the attraction btw molecules of the same substance. Water is cohesive because it is attracted to other water molecules. This is because water is a polar molecule. Where the charges are unevenly distributed in a molecule. The oxygen had a negative charge while the hydrogen atoms have a positive charge. This results in hydrogen bond forming because of the slightly pos and neg charges. Adhesion is the attraction btw molecules of dif substances. The meniscus in the graduated cylinder is due to the fact that the adhesion btw water molecules and glass molecules r stronger than the cohesion btw water molecules. Surface tension is cohesion btw water molecules forms an invisible bond.
High heat capacity is where hydrogen bonds btw water molecules makes them "slower" Therefore, you need a large amount of energy to make the molecules move faster, which means that the temp of the water rises. Water's heat capacity, the amount of heat energy required to increase its temp is pretty high.
Water expands slightly when it freezes making the ice less dense than water. The orientation of water molecules push farther apart which lowers the density of ice.
Hope this helps @whynotstudyalone >_<
@Bunny12 omg Thank you :D
Your welcome :) im studying this too. So im reviewing as well :P
Hahahaha are you in 8th grade or high school?
>_< u in 8th or high school?
8th lol
but it's advanced or something like that :P
same its considered 'above average' in my school, but i had to figure this out by myself cuz my teacher doesnt teach
Oh dear, I hate when teacher are like that. I just have to much to learn and then I'm supposed to fill in a 9 page study guide :o
At least you have a study guide. I have no clue whats on the test, just a vague idea of it.
Yeah, my other classes don't have this so I'm kinda glad. But I'm super behind because I'm so confused lol
Well, just tag me and I will try to help the best I can.
