OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

49% of men consider themselves professional baseball fans. You randomly select 10 men and ask each if he considers himself a professional baseball fan. Find the probability that the number who consider themselves baseball fans is (a) exactly five, (b) at least six, and (c) less than four.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Im at 252(0.49)^5 (0.51)^5

OpenStudy (phi):

at least six would be 1 - sum(0,1,2,3,4,5) less than four would be sum(0,1,2,3)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Im sorry, but I dont understand what your talking about.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

(a) exactly five- answer is 0.246 (b) at least six- answer is 0.353 (c) less than four- answer is 0.189

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

I want to know how to solve this step by step. My examples dont show how it goes from one step to the next.

OpenStudy (phi):

for the first question, use a calculator or type this into google: 252(0.49)^5 (0.51)^5=

OpenStudy (phi):

Find the probability that the number who consider themselves baseball fans is (b) at least six I would find the Pr(0), Pr(1), Pr(2), Pr(3), Pr(4), Pr(5) (note: we already did Pr(5)) add them up then find 1 - sum that will be the probability of bigger than 5 i.e. Pr(at least six)

OpenStudy (phi):

(c) less than four. that is Pr(0)+Pr(1)+Pr(2)+Pr(3) note: we have these numbers from part (b)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Okay.
