OpenStudy (cat2211):

The "up" and "down" arrows in electron orbital notation, such as are shown here, depict: A. protons and neutrons in orbitals B. electrons with opposite spins C. electrons and protons attracting each other D. oppositely charged electrons

OpenStudy (cat2211):

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

B. Opposite spins. Two electrons in the same sub-orbital have to have opposite spins. (idk if sub-orbital is the right word, electron chem was like a year ago for me). You seem to have a lot of the same type of question, is it from a homework problem set? If so, you might want to review the part of your textbook that goes over these topics.

OpenStudy (cat2211):

The questions are from a study guide and I'm checking to see if my answers are correct. Since we are not going over it until before the test. Thank you for your help.

OpenStudy (sapphiremoon):

Ah, okay. Just checking to make sure you don't need more help than I could give you. :)
