Need Help please 4. How does adding neutrons affect the stability of an isotope? 5. How does the stability of an isotope relate to its abundance in nature?

OpenStudy (photon336):

Well, think about it. Heavier elements tend to decay more, if something has too many neutrons it's going to have a natural tendency to decay, I.E. undergo some kind of process to get rid of those neutrons. So adding neutrons would make an isotope less stable. what do you think about the second one given what was said before?

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

@Photon336 well the abundance in nature determines determines the stability. if the abundance in nature is week than the isotope is week

OpenStudy (photon336):

Yeah I agree
