OpenStudy (agent0smith):

Look at a periodic table. What element has 40 protons? It has 40 protons and 51 neutrons, then 2 neutrons are added. How many protons plus neutrons are there now?

OpenStudy (fancysharkk):

93?

OpenStudy (perl):

There are two elements with mass number 93.

OpenStudy (fancysharkk):

antimony?

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

If you answered both of the questions I asked above, you'd know the answer already.

OpenStudy (fancysharkk):

o.o

OpenStudy (mathmate):

@FancySharkk Hint: The atomic number is the number of protons. The isotope number is (approximately) the atomic mass of the isotope, which is the sum of the number of protons and neutrons. If you add neutrons, the atomic number (hence the element) does not change. Also, in the future, please post in the chemistry section and post a link here or anywhere else you would like to. This way, all responses will be in one place, the correct place. In addition, this way, you will benefit from peer reviews from the chemistry helpers.
