OpenStudy (aabomosalam1998):

A solution of NaOH in water has a molarity of 2 and a density of 53 kgmole/m3 . Calculate the mole fraction of NaOH and the mass density of the solution in tons per cubic meter.

OpenStudy (aabomosalam1998):

Molarity=Number of moles of solute/Volume of solution=2gmol/dm^3=2gmol/K. I converted the units of volume from dm^3 to L and mass from g to Kg using the conversion factors (1dm^3/10^-3dm^3) and (10^-3kg/1g) so the Molarity=2 kgmol/m^3 Mole fraction- n(NaOH)/n(Solution)=2/53
