Please help me! I don't get it! What is the mass of a sack of sand weighing 520 N? Giving 500 N of force at what rate will accelerate? Thanks!!

1) The mass of the sack can be found using the following equation: W=mg where - 'W' is the weight force acting on the sack (520 N) - 'm' is the mass - 'g' is the acceleration due gravity (9.8 m/s^2) Substituting for m (mass) gives us m=W/g . Using this equation, you should be able to work out the mass. 2) For this part, I am assuming the 500 N force is acting in a horizontal direction. The equation we need to use is F=ma (Newton's second law) - 'F' is the force applied on the sack (500 N) - 'm' is the mass of the object (found in the previous answer) - 'a' is the acceleration of the object Rearranging the equation gives us a=F/m which we can use to find the acceleration. PS: This is my first answer on this site. If anyone finds any errors, please let me know. I am happy to change them.
