Can you share your works/steps, please?
OpenStudy (18jonea):

OpenStudy (18jonea):
OpenStudy (18jonea):
i think it would either be a or c

This one does not relate to ours!
OpenStudy (18jonea):
then im not really sure
OpenStudy (18jonea):
@3mar
OpenStudy (3mar):
Can you multiply by \(-2\) to make the coefficient of \(x^2\) equal to \(1\)??
OpenStudy (18jonea):
yes so
2/4 and 18/4

Can you please multiply by 2 again to eliminate the (1/2) at x?
OpenStudy (18jonea):
i dont get what you are saying
OpenStudy (3mar):
Can you please multiply by 2 again to not have any fraction in the equation?
OpenStudy (18jonea):
so 1x^2 ?
sorry i am just confused

\[\Huge \frac{ -1 }{ 2 }x^2-\frac{ 7 }{ 4 }x-\frac{ 9 }{ 2 }=0\]
multiply by -4 to eliminate all fractions:
\[\huge -4*\frac{ -1 }{ 2 }*x^2+4*\frac{ 7 }{ 4 }x+4*\frac{ 9 }{ 2 }=0\]
then
\[\huge 2x^2+7x+18=0\]
so \(a=2~~b=7~~c=18\)
Can you now use the quadratic formula to solve such equation?
OpenStudy (3mar):
@18jonea
OpenStudy (18jonea):
yes
OpenStudy (3mar):
Let me see!
OpenStudy (18jonea):
hang on 2 seconds
