Help with one question plz Which of the following is the electron configuration of an electrically neutral atom of argon (Ar)?
A. 1s2 2s2 2p5 B. 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3s6 C. 1s2 2s1 D. 1s2 3d10 4f7
Do you know how to do orbitals?
I don't think I have studied orbitals yet
Give me one moment, and I will answer your question :)
Okay thanks
@Jamierox4ev3r
My friend Jamie will help you with orbitals :)
And will she know how to solve this question?
Yep!
So orbitals start with s followed by p then d and then f.
They follow the periodic table. http://lightapp.cloudapp.net/images/answerimages/The_electronic_configuration_of_element_is_2_8_7_1443885512.81.jpg
So based on that table the electron configuration for Argon would be 1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2 3p^6. @MajesticGalaxy
