Do you mean, how would you factor the equation?
yeah
you have to add +1 and then subtract it again
One of two ways to do so: \[\LARGE \color{blue}{y=3x^2-5x+1}\] 1.factor this quadratic equation into two factors \((x+a)(x+b)\). 2.use the quadratic formula if you have found the first method is not easy!
y=(3x^2-5x+1+1)-1 =(3x^2-5x+2)-1 =(3x-2)(x-1)-1 that's the furthest I could factor it. However, you may also use synthetic division.
