Show two ways of finding y if \[y=\log _{4}64\] Explain please....
You can rewrite this as 64=4^y
And then you can just solve. Y has to be 3.
For example, \(y=\log_5(125)=\log_5(5^3)=3\times \log_5(5)=3\times 1 = 3\)
i knew that way its just i can't think of another way to write that

note that \(64=4^3\), so if you just apply the rules of logarithms, you can get the answer in a split second.
i think i understand it
Yeah, and you don't need to re-write it as an exponential. (You would if you had something like \(2=\log_5(y)\) ...)
\[y=\log _{4}(64)=\log _{4}(4^{3})=3 *\log _{3}(4)=3\]
like that??

You take the exponent inside the log outside
Fix your second to last step.
what do you mean??
