OpenStudy (tparker22):

I know this is math, and nobody will answer me in chemistry. Can someone PLEASE tell me if I chose the right answer?????? In order to change grams of a substance to moles of the same substance, or vice versa, the following should be used: Mole Ratio <-- my answer

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Describe what a Mole Ratio is.

OpenStudy (tparker22):

A mole ratio is ratio between the amounts in moles of any two compounds involved in a chemical reaction. @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

So, if we have only one substance, and we just want to convert to moles or grams, does that seem correct?

OpenStudy (tparker22):

Yes?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Mole Ratio requires TWO substances. Molar Mass requires only ONE substance.

OpenStudy (tparker22):

Okay, thank you!

OpenStudy (tparker22):

Could you help me with one more?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Maybe. It's not really what we do here in Mathematics.

OpenStudy (tparker22):

The only way to convert between two substances is to use a _____ to _____ conversion I said "gram to mole"

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

These are definitions. You WILL be required to know them on an exam. I'm going with "mole-to-mole". Good luck.

OpenStudy (mww):

I would use mass to mole conversion. mass is implied in grams.
