help
ooohkay
just a sec
...
i did a 10 paragraph essay today.. so tired
ok we do this one quick ten paragraphs? what is that, like 4 pages?
yea
and yea do it fast
3 questions
plug in the numbers for \(-4\) gives \(\frac{5}{16}\) \(-3\) gives \(\frac{5}{9}\) \((-2, \frac{5}{4})\) \((-1,5)\) \(0\) not in the domain, you cannot divide by zero \((1,5)\) \((2,\frac{5}{4})\) \((3,\frac{5}{9})\) \((4,\frac{5}{16})\)
you have to plot those points yourself
mk but can u put them in the box for me? last time i get it wrong
dw:1488593101315:dw
you mean draw a box?
dw:1488593148155:dw
ugly but whatever
damn
what else
that is it for the table
next is to plot the points
general picture should look like the one i drew above
no, you should try to actually plot the points we have
fine.
much worse
the first one had the right shape at least
can u please do it
make sure at least to put a dot at \((-1,5)\) and at \((1,5)\)
also at \((-2,\frac{5}{4}) \) which is \((-2,1.25)\) and \((2,1.25)\)
this is taking too long.
k lets do something else.
save this for tomorrow
ok picture is better, just tighten it up a little to make it look more like the worfram one i sent
lets do som dif
fine easier
what discussion board might that be?
wym!??
read the question
lol
ok so i guess we make our own?
lets pick a starting amount at 400, say it loses 5 gallons a day
so it will be \[y=400-5x\] or if you prefer \[y=-5x+400\] either way
in two days it will lose ten gallons, (five a day) so there will be \[y=-5\times 2+400=-10+400=390\] gallons
b) the slope of the line is the \(-5\) the meaning is that it loses 5 gallons per day a kinda stupid question because that is what they told you it meant to begin with, but whatevs
standard form i guess means \[y+5x=400\] there are two intercepts the y intercept is \((0,400)\) which represents how many gallons you started with (400)
the x intercept is \((80,0)\) which represents how many days it takes for the tank to empty , 80 day because it loses 5 gallons a day and \(5\times 80=400\)
for D you are on your own, perhaps you could say it is unlikely that it would lose EXACTLY 5 gallons a day, so it is an approximation write 10 paragraphs
***
done, finished stick a fork in it
ok NEXT
...
too bad i don't have access to the discussion board
no help
it says to buy something from some company on some discussion board i can't do it
k next
lol
onemore then bedtime
and it better not be a bunch of words with a some board
those are al i have left
great
after we do that first part ill show u someone elses stuff
ok the nose is at the origin, so evidently the mouth should start below it, but directly below it so maybe it starts at \((0,-2)\)
the easiest parabola opening up would be \(y=x^2-2\) that starts at \((0,-2)\) then if you say it ends at \(x=-2\) and \(x=2\) the mouth would end at \((-2,2)\) and \((2,2)\) not very original, but it should please the teacher enuf
so what do i say
you could copy what i wrote except for the "not very original" part
lol
i dont have to do the other student part so that it for this one?
OK NEXT
one more that is it for me
:(
hey you were the one who said tomorrow lets hurry
what time will u be on tmr ( america time )
american time?
its 6:50 right now
ignore the 2 other classmate things
american time i would guess would be about 1956 or so at present
wat
conjunction means a lot of different things, grammer, math, etc i am going to guess that it means "AND" with inequalities like a number is bigger than 0 and less than 10" or \[0<x<10\] for example
you want a real world example, i would say "my mother will not give me more than $15 to spend at Sephora" the conjunction would be \[0\leq x\leq 15\]
WOW
ur funny
interval notation would be \[[0,15]\]
i will actually use that
why not?
hey whats those < with underline called?
dw:1488596221561:dw
less than or equal to
so x, representing the pittance your mother gives you, has to be greater than or equal to zero AND less than or equal to 15
yes, that is the "graph" in "discuss what the graph and interval notation would look like"
\[0\leq x\leq 15\] is inequality notation \[[0,15]\] is interval notation that fine artwork is the "graph"
it is fine
now for a disjunction it is a little harder to come up with an example with money maybe something else
ok is that it?
that is it for the "conjunction"
we need a "disjunction"
which is of the form "x is less than some number OR greater than some other number"
get to work buddy
like maybe "the state does not require you to go to school if you are under 6 years old or over 16 years old"
i say thaT?
or You cannot smoke within 15 feet of this entrance
but that would be in two dimensions, lets stick to one dimension
yes i guess you could say that why not in reality "disjunction" in math means something not necessarily related to intervals, but that is what it says to use so we use it
disjunction would be \[x\leq 6 \text{ or }x\geq 16\]
where did the llama go?
i say bring back the breck girl
its a sloth
how apt!
Keeps changing PfP....Nice...
thanks
i want the breck girl back, she was the best
you want me to put actually me?
sure why not
you can always change it
Satellite 73...A pleasure to meet the user with the highest level back on OS....:)
@Eiwoh2 thanks!
that was quick
why is the pfp thing screwed up
what is a pfp?
omg u dident even show me the equation
refresh your browswer
i can see it fine \[x\leq 6 \text{ or }x\geq 16\]
still
lets try peer answrs
Ppl will have to remember that this site is apparently still beta....It won't be perfect.
Profile picture satellite. That's what they call pfp
get on peer answers
oh i have an idea start a new thread this is very long
