help
@satellite73
can u help me add steps
i have no idea what a median median line is do you?
Sort the collected data by the independent variable. Divide the sorted data into three groups. Find the median x and the median y of each group. Find the equation of the line that passes through (x1, y1) and (x3, y3).
first is your answer right?
we can to through it if you like, it will take a while (not too long)
....
No i just need the steps that make sense
ok we need to sort the data in to three groups of four from smallest to largest
\[150,301\\ 210,540\\ 790,508\\ 812,587\] is the first group of 4 unless i made a mistake
the median of the x values (first numbers) is 500 the median of the y values (second numbers) is 524 we need those two numbers clear, or no?
yea
but how is what i put on the question?
we are not even close to done you can put that though
what we are doing is finding the equation of the line where did you get \[y=.35x+252\] from? that is what we are trying to find
idk google
all the work is finding that line that should come first
first you should have "sort the data\[
\[150,301\\ 210,540\\ 790,508\\ 812,587\]
then you should have "the median of the x's is 500 and the median of the y's is 524
now we have to do the same with the highest group
can just give me the steps cuz i dont got all day
jeez what do you think i am doing?????
sorry, continue
largest group is \[3214,817\\ 3578,1647\\ 7742,3013\\ 7810,3619\]
median of the x's is 5660
median of the y's is 2330
the equation of the line through \[(500,524), (5660,2330)\] is \[y=.35x+349\] so unless i made a mistake your answer is wrong
where did you get the \(252\) out at the end?
well who knows, i used wolfram to get the line, maybe i made a mistake earlier on, but it seems unlikely we would both get the same slope by coincidence
can i jut erase everything I put there
you can copy down what i wrote the last part would be \[y=.35x+349\] then \[y=.35\times 1950+349=1031.50\]
Thank you
you're welcome, you can check my work if you like, maybe i made a mistake do you have the google link?
nope
good?
your ordering is all messed up
lol...
fix it.
the median of the x values (first numbers) is 500 the median of the y values (second numbers) is 524 we need those two numbers y=.35x+349 then y=.35×1950+349=1031.50 Sort the collected data by the independent variable . Divide the sorted data into three groups. Find the median x and the median y of each group . Find the equation of the line that passes through (x1, y1) and (x3, y3). 150,301 210,540 790,508 812,587 largest group is 3214,817 3578,1647 7742,3013 7810,3619 median of the x's is 5660 median of the y's is 2330
first the instructions
Sort the collected data by the independent variable . Divide the sorted data into three groups. Find the median x and the median y of each group . Find the equation of the line that passes through (x1, y1) and (x3, y3).
150,301 210,540 790,508 812,587 the median of the x's is 500, the median of the y's is 524
largest group is 3214,817 3578,1647 7742,3013 7810,3619 the median of the x's is 5660 median of the y's is 2330
the equation of the line through \((500,524)\) and \((5660,2300)\) is \[y=.35x+349\]
if \(x=1950\) then \[y=.35\times 1950+349=1031.50\][
done
much better~ hope it is right...
me too
i couldnt finish this one
if you have the google link that gave you the other answer i will look at it
lol nice art work
Thanks!
but good enough i guess, should look like your frequency table turned sideways
now that is art!!
Settle down
did you find the mean and the median?
dosnt look like it, we need to do c, and d
how are you going to find the relation between the mean and the median if you don't know it?
the things i do for you http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=mean+%7B17,16,56,50,14,30,12,33,82,16,10,52,25,25,19,75,24,12,30,12,20,38,26,36,33,24,18,26,40,40%7D
i would say "the data looks skewed to the left. the median is 25.5 but the mean is larger, 30.37
lolllll
it does not look like a normal distribution because is is skewed left normal would look like |dw:1497321431071:dw|
instead of like |dw:1497321448177:dw|
"it is" skewed left and get rid of "normal looks less curved" that does't make any sense
rude
moi?
im leaving that last part
fine if you like it, leave it
anything else to add?
hows this
honestly you are on your own with that one, i really really know nothing about boxes and whiskers
kk all good, wanna do more?
more than anything
is it more of this, or something easier to deal with ?
umm
