Which is the next logical step in balancing the given equation? CS2(l) + Cl2(g) CCl4(l) + S2Cl2(l)

usually you want to start with the most "complex" molecule so we could look at either S2Cl2 or CCl4 if we look at S2Cl2 we can see that it's balanced since we have 2 Sulfur moles and 2 chlorine moles on the left side so we move to CCl4 since we only have 2 Cl atoms we must double Cl2 to get 2Cl2 making your equation balanced
