ABJ6:

An object with a kinetic energy of 2160J has a mass of 120kg. What is its velocity?

Shadow:

The formula for KE or Kinetic Energy is: \[KE = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }mv^2\] Where m = mass, v = velocity In this formula we have three unknowns. In order to solve for an unknown variable in an equation, we need only one unknown. Your question gives us KE which is "2160J" and mass which is "120kg" Now we only have one unknown, which is velocity, the variable that we are looking for. This is our setup: \[2160 = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }(120)v^2\] \[2160 = 60v^2\] \[36 = v^2\] \[v = \sqrt 36\] \[v = 6m/s\]
