This should be fairly simple, as for you are given all the information. We know that the passenger is charged 2.5$ as he is picked up. And adds 1.95$ per mile. 1.95 is our slope and 2.5 is the y-intercept. If he was charged 27.46 then set the equation you obtained equal to 27.46. Then solve for x
