Well, from what I know a carbon half-life means after 5,730 years, only half of the carbon is left. in another 5730 years when this happens again, instead of all carbon going away, it takes half of that half.

Not mine but here's an example at least lol "Half life is defined as the time after which half of a sample of a radioactive material will have decayed. In other words, if you start with 1 kg of material with a half life of 1 year, then after 1 year you will have 500g. After another year you will have half of that, or 250 g. After another year, you will have 125 g, and so on." For carbon it was 5,730.
