CashMoneyDay:

Can someone help me with balencing and identifying __Al + __ZnO→

BANANNA:

uh

BANANNA:

im a 12 yr old idk this stuff sry

ramen:

Are you sure this is the full problem?

memeXpapi:

u

CashMoneyDay:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @ramen Are you sure this is the full problem? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) yes this is the whole problem I have to try to find the product side

jhonyy9:

do you know the way how can react an oxid of a metal with an other metal ? bc. how i see this is what you wrote there

CashMoneyDay:

I don't know how I'm going to do this bc I don't understand the question

ramen:

Well we need to find the products of this reaction. Since AI and Zn are both positive ions, they can't connect. Correct me if I'm wrong but, the ones that can connect are AI and O and the floating ion would be Zn.

CashMoneyDay:

right

kaleighh533:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @CashMoneyDay right \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) ok i wuz just making sure of what the question wuz

ramen:

And I believe we might have to balance it as well.

kaleighh533:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @ramen And I believe we might have to balance it as well. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) so we have to find the product side an then balance it ok

ramen:

So currently we have Al + ZnO -> AlO + Zn. Now we have to make sure the ions in the compound of AlO are balanced with each other. Al is a +3 ion and O is a 2- ion. To make this balance we would have to find a common number with 3 and 2. That number is 6. So to make Al 3+ = 6, we would multiply it by 2. To make O2- equal to- 6, we would multiply it by 3. Now 6 and -6 both cancel each other out. Now we have Al+Zno -> Al2O3 + Zn. Understand?

ramen:

We would just have to balance the full equation now.

CashMoneyDay:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @ramen We would just have to balance the full equation now. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) but how do I do that

DanGonz:

.

CashMoneyDay:

I don't understand the balencing of this equation

Timmyspu:

So for balancing a equation you have to solve for a variable correct? Also a good thing to help with this is a example equation.

ramen:

No you don't have to solve for a variable, it's a lot simpler than that

CashMoneyDay:

oh I think I get it now

ramen:

Tell me what you get for ur answer when u finish

CashMoneyDay:

okay

CashMoneyDay:

\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @ramen Tell me what you get for ur answer when u finish \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) 2Al+3ZnO--->Al2O3+3Zn

ramen:

Yup that's correct good job.

CashMoneyDay:

oh thank you so much.

ramen:

np

CashMoneyDay:

I have one more can you help me if you want

ramen:

I can try, you can post it as a new question.
