Mathplayer223:

@vocaloid

Vocaloid:

density = mass/volume however, since your mass in in kg not grams, multiply your mass by 1000 first. from there, divide by the volume in cm^3, then you'll get density in g/cm^3. from there, since 1 mL = 1 cm^3, you'll also have your volume in g/mL.

Mathplayer223:

im not sure what to do first

Vocaloid:

1. multiply mass in kg by 1000 to get grams 2. divide mass by volume

Mathplayer223:

1.03 times 1000?

Vocaloid:

yes

Mathplayer223:

how do I divide mass by volume with 1030

Vocaloid:

your mass is 1030g your volume is 819 cm^3 divide 1030g / 819 cm^3

Mathplayer223:

decimal form?

Vocaloid:

yes divide 1030/819, convert to a decimal

Mathplayer223:

1.87493199*10^-6

Vocaloid:

? 1030, divided by 819, is 1.26

Mathplayer223:

oops I divided it by ^3

Mathplayer223:

1.26

Vocaloid:

good, 1.26 g/cm^3 since 1 cm^3 = 1 mL, the density = 1.26 g/mL

Mathplayer223:

the answer is 1.26?

Vocaloid:

yes

Mathplayer223:

is it possible to identify the liquid

Vocaloid:

notice how they give you a density table of various liquids see which one is closest to 1.26

Mathplayer223:

dimethyl sulfoxide

Vocaloid:

I think glycerol is closer, since 1.26 is closest to 1.3

Mathplayer223:

yep your right
