I don't know how to explain this uhhh so in molecular orbital (MO) diagrams, for elements in the second row Boron, Carbon, Nitrogen have a different diagram whereas Oxygen, Fluorine and Neon have a different one

You can take a look at the MO for C2 you'll see that the sigma bond for 2p is higher than the pi bond for 2p

The ones with the asterixis are the antibonding molecular orbitals

The MO for O2 you can notice that the sigma bond for 2p is lower than the pi bond for 2p

This is the region we're talking about for B, C, and N it's going to be diagram A for O, F, Ne it's going to be diagram B
