How did the D-Day invasion play a part in the development of World War II? Question 3 options: It failed to establish a position in France, leading to a continuation of the war. It weakened Germany's hold on Europe as Allied forces invaded and established a foothold in Italy. It allowed Soviet forces to begin driving Germany back across Europe as they counterattacked after a stalled German offensive. A significant psychological blow, it also prevented Hitler from sending troops from France to build up his Eastern Front against the advancing Soviets.

Zak:

It's not the 3rd option because, the 3rd option is Operation Anvil, NOT Operation Overlord (D-Day)
