This logarithmic equation \[\log _{2}(x-4)=6\] can be rewritten as \[2^{6} = x-4\] You can think of a log() operation as asking, "what power should I take the base to in order to get the result inside the parentheses?" In this case, the answer is 6 and the base is 2, which means, if we take 2 to the power of 6, we get the result (x-4) We can calculate \[2^{6} = 64\] So, x-4 = 64 From here, it should be simple to solve for x :)
